On Dvice, i found a really interesting thing. It’s where a seventy three year old  man named Ron can see a little bit more thanks to a bionic eye called the Argus II. He’s been blind for about 30 years, and because of the Argus he can see a bit again.

The Argus is  camera and video processor  on a pair of sunglasses sending data to an eye-mounted transceiver which allows him to see things like white lines on the road. The receiver passes on the data through  a tiny cable to an array of electrodes which sit on the retina – the layer of specialized cells that normally respond to light found at the back of the eye. Researchers say it’s not perfect, but it’s better then nothing right?
