Avenged Sevenfold is a band that’s genre varies from hard rock, heavy metal, and metal core. The current members include Brian Haner, Matthew Sanders, James Sullivan, Johnny Seward, and Zachary Baker. Each of the members has a stage name.

Brian = Synyster Gates

Zachary = Zacky Vengeance

James = The Rev

Matthew = M. Shadows

Johnny = Johnny Christ

Synyster is the lead guitarist for the band. He plays his ‘custom Synyster Schecter guitar’. He self taught himself by watching other guitarists play, and looking through other guitar magazines. He was also named guitarist of the year in 2006.

Zacky is the rhythm guitarist for the band and he plays guitar left handed, he started to play guitar at age 13. He has amazing skills, though he’s not as good as Synyster.

Johnny plays bass for the band. He is the youngest and shortest out of all the members of the band.

The Rev is the tallest out of them all, and he is the bands drummer. He is an insane drummer. He wrote some songs like: A little piece of heaven, Almost Easy, Afterlife, and Brompton Cocktail. He co-wrote a few of the songs, such as Scream, Critical Acclaim, and Lost. He has a really cool drum kit.

Matt is the lead singer for the band, and he has a great voice. When he first started singing, he started out screaming in the first two albums, and kind of dropped it when he recorded City Of Evil. Matt started singing in his first band, Successful Failure. He then made a few other bands later on with Zacky, but then finally formed Avenged Sevenfold.

The name of the band came from the Bible, in the fourth chapter, Genesis 4:24. A few songs come from the Bible, including Chapter Four, referring to the chapter of the Bible. The abbreviation for the bands name, A7X was thought up by Zacky. Sevenfold, means seven times over, so 7X, then A from Avenged, thus becoming A7X.

Though the band say they are not a religious band. And in a interview with Matt, he said “That’s one thing about this band that I love, is that we never really shove any kind of, like, political or religious beliefs on people. We just make the music, the music’s there to entertain and maybe thought-provoking on both sides, but we don’t try to, like, really shove anything down anyone’s throat”.

Left 4 dead is a game that came out for the X-box 360 and PC recently. It’s a survival game mostly, where you are playing as survivors that are trapped in a city full of zombies. It’s a bit like the game Dead Rising, but I think this game will be much better.

In gameplay, instead of the zombies being slow paced mindless things, they can run pretty fast and are kind of smart. There is a few types, normal zombies, witches, hunters, smokers, boomers, and tanks. the witches are a type of girl zombie that attacks the player when provoked by a flashlight, or a loud sound. (most likely a gunshot) Hunters are like a normal zombie but they can climb buildings, and jump on the player from a distance and attacks them. Smokers have a long tongue that wraps around the player and hurts them, and they release a cloud of smoke when they die. Boomers are pretty much obese zombies, they puke and attack you, and their throw-up attracts even more normal zombies. Finally, the Tanks. They are the biggest, strongest of them all. they are huge, and beat out all of the other zombie bosses.

In the game, there is a four multi co-op play. Four people can either team up and play campaign mode, or Versus mode where they can play the Infected and fight each other. You can also go online and play with others on X-box live. And because of the game, you get a different experience everytime you play the same level, it’s all different.

Dead Rising is a game, where a journalist, Frank West, travels to a (fictional) town in  Colorado via helicopter to cover a story about a rumoured viral outbreak. When he gets there, he lands on top of a roof where he is greeted by one of the main characters linked to the outbreak. Frank is then trapped inside a mall, full of thousands and thousands of zombies, and he has to fight for his life using all of the items he can find inside the mall.

During the game, you can fight the zombies with virtually everything, find and rescue other survivors.(or let them die) And complete missions. In the game you encounter psychopaths, zombies, bosses, and just complete lunatics, along with some friends to help you out. The goal in the game is to find out how the outbreak was caused by completing all the ‘key’ cases that Otis(the janitor who helps you) sends you via a walkie talkie.

If you are into the whole zombie thing.. i recommend you try these games, they are really fun. (at least Dead Rising is.. never tried Left 4 Dead yet)

Today in class, Mr Fisher wanted us to look back from when we first started blogging and wanted us to see what and how much it has changed. Through all my stuff, i have received about 11 comments, 179 hits( people who read my blog), and most of the people who read them, are from North America, thanks to me clustr map. All my posts so far this year.. only 8, kind of pathetic huh? But with my old blog, I had quite a lot of posts and comments compared to this blog. When I write, I usually write more about music and instruments like guitar, drums etc.

From what i learned about all the thigns about blogging, I learned how to write comments, nice comments praising them, or comments telling them about how to write better. Also. I know how to write more better written and understood posts.

With the Igoogle RSS feed, when I first got it, I did not know what I was supposed to do with it, and now I use it a lot to receive things from other blogs, and even to add games, though we’re not allowed to play them in class.  From learning how to use the Igoogle RSS feed, I can now write about more things like the other blogs on our Igoogle RSS feed tab Mr. Fisher gave us.

But now, through the 2 months of blogging we did, I know how to use all the things we need like Igoogle and blogging things and everything.

   You know how sometimes you need to go to the bathroom, and your outside, and you think, of, it’s good for the grass, it is.  And with this thing, you use all your waste water from your bathroom, sinks, everything, and it’s treated, and used to water your lawn and garden!  And with this thing, it takes all of your waste water (even sewage) and treats it until it’s safe enough to be used in a garden.

   It cleans all your used water and sewage and it uses it in your sprinkler system, hose, etc.  and then you recycle water and lessen your water usage.

On Dvice, I found a post about a voice controlled mouse for the disabled. Using a mouse is a really easy way to navigate, but for the disabled, it is much harder. University of Washington developed them for disabled people, you plug it right into the USB port, and use it. To control it, what you do is; saying ahh moves the cursor up and to the right. Ooo will send it straight down, while saying ohh sends it down and to the right. To click, make a clicking sound and it will click. It’s a wierd, but relatively easy way of controlling the mouse without needing to use your hands at all.

Rockband is a game that you play songs with guitars, vocals, drums etc. Rockband was created by Harmonix. On rockband, you can buy new songs if you want, but you have to have a Ps3 or a Xbox 360. which sucks because i have it for the Ps2 version. I play expert on the drums and guitar, medium on singing. Some of my favorite songs to play are (I mainly play the drums) Run To The Hills by Iron Maiden, Won’t Get Fooled Again by The Who, Devour by Shinedown, Blackened, Ride The Lightning, Enter Sandman, and ...And Justice For All by Metallica. Soon, Rockband 2 is coming out, and I really want to play it, I’m really big on the whole music thing. Rockband 2 has the song Almost Easy by Avenged Sevenfold, my favorite band.  Also, Rockband two is coming out, it has all kinds of new awesome features, Dvice has a post about Rockband 2, take a look. Dvice, also has a sister blogged, called Fidget, it’s all about gaming, so if your into games and stuff, maybe look into it.

The class has been working on a photo story lately and me and Brianna have both finished ours, here it is, hope you like it.

Copyright, is pretty important to some people, while it isn’t to others. Copyright is when someone makes something, and they own all the right to to, and they can use it for whatever they want. When someone owns the copyright to something, they can either make it so that only they can use it, and others can’t. Or they can let other people use it, but with some restrictions.

Anything you, me, or something else makes, can be copyrighted, as long as you made it originally. As long as you came up with the idea, it’s yours. If there was no copyright laws in the world, someone can take anything, they can even take your car, and you can’t do anything about it.

Something that goes with Copyright is Public Domain. If you don’t know what that means, it means that if the owner chooses, anybody can use his/her work for any use, selling, using, remixing, etc. With the copyright law right now, if someone makes something, has the copyright of it and dies, they still have the copyright to it unless they either: Give the copyright to someone else, or 70 years pass, then it is considered public domain.

Something kind of similar to copyright and public domain is fair use. Fair use means someone that doesn’t have the copyright to, ex. Someone wants to use Avenged Sevenfold’s song, Afterlife in their presentation, they are only allowed to use up to 30 seconds of it, unless they have the permission to use the full song. It means you are allowed to use a little bit of something that someone else owns, without getting in trouble.

Creative Commons is a non-profit organization that helps creators, authors etc. get licenses for their work. Their licenses allow people to either have All Rights Reserved if they don’t want people to use their work. Or Some Rights reserved if they allow people to use their work for certain reasons.

Music is my life. That’s being flat out. I’m into more of the hardcore kind of music, like emo, hard rock, metal, heavy metal, screamo, grunge, etc. I also like some old classic rock like AC/DC.

My all time favorite band though, is Avenged Sevenfold, i love every one of their songs and all of them have amazing skills. Synyester Gates, amazing guitar skills, Zacky Vengeance, amazing guitar skills. The Rev, the most amazing drummer alive. Johnny Christ, amazing bassist. And Matt Shadows, best screaming voice. Ever. I know a few songs that have sweep picking that you should check out, Scream, and Afterlife, and especially The Wicked End, it has six string sweeps which are freakin amazing. Probably more, but i don’t know. A few other favorite bands are Escape The Fate, From First To Last, SlipKnoT, Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, and Megadeth, but the best band is Avenged Sevenfold. But in Escape The Fate, their lead singer got sent to jail because he was involved with a murder, and hardcore drugs. So their new singer, Craig, from BlessTheFall replaced them.

I play guitar and drums.. kind of. For Christmas, I am getting a new Electric guitar with a 15 watt amp.. So far from what I have practiced, I can play Paranoid by Black Sabbath, Ride The Lightning, Enter Sandman and Master Of Puppets by Metallica. (except the solos) Also I can play some other stuff.

Hey,  today, Mr Fisher wanted all the seventh graders to make Igoogle accounts so we can use Google Docs. Though we didn’t do much today, we still have math class after break..   which I am not looking forward to..  ( I suck at math) Not much interesting happened today though.. So, that’s ’bout all I got to say, so, write to you later.

Peace!
